Share photos, videos, letters, songs, artwork (the more creative the better) singing the praises of your School Lunch Heroes for a chance to win $500. The winning team of School Lunch Heroes will also receive $500!

Due to school closures back in March 2020, The I Love My School Lunch Hero Video Contest was postponed.  What would’ve been the 6th annual celebration of our School Lunch Heroes was put on hold, but we are determined to make sure that the essential work of our Nutrition Services Teams throughout California is recognized.

Many of our school nutrition services personnel consist of parents and grandparents themselves who care deeply about the children.  And while students and teachers began their distance learning from home, the dedicated men and women who served nourishing meals and enthusiastically engaged with the students as they passed through the lunch line every single day continue to do the important work of serving nourishing meals to the students through grab-and-go services and drive-up pickups.  School Nutrition Never Stops and although we are not able to see each other right now,  they are committed to ensuring all students have access to well-balanced meals.

As promised, we are back with a bigger purpose.  WE, as a community want to share an appreciation for the work School Lunch Heroes have done during the pandemic.  This year, the We Love Our School Lunch Heroes contest is dedicated to the School Nutrition Services Teams.  We are thinking of you - all our SCHOOL LUNCH HEROES!

The "We Love Our School Lunch Heroes" contest is sponsored by the Southern California School Nutrition Association, Food Safety Systems and General Mills Convenience & Foodservice.

Students, teachers, parents and school employees in California may participate this year.  You may email southerncsna@gmail.com with any questions.

All entries must be submitted by midnight on October 2, 2020.
